London's newest medieval music group, Green Dragon Guild is named after Green Dragon Court, the ancient street in central London that winds around the surviving medieval corner of Southwark Cathedral.
But since that time, many green dragons of contemporary fantasy have appeared, like the Green Dragon Inn, the mythical Tolkien location where the quest to the Lonely Mountain begins.
This combination, of surviving medieval remnants and contemporary imagination, reflects the heart of the Guild’s artistic vision.
It is an exciting new take on medieval and modern music, presenting evocative works from the 12th to 15th centuries as well as contemporary composition that is medieval-inspired, all brought to life through historically-informed performance.
The Guild comprises professional musicians based in the UK with specialisation in medieval music:

From kings and queens, to archangels and fallen angels, from druids and demons, to visions and voles, our launch concert presents music and tales of iconic figures from across the ages.
Performed in historic Holy Sepulchre church, the National Musicians' Church and site of the meetings of one of the original medieval guilds, the Guild and Fraternity of St Katherine.
Be immersed in transporting sound, from refined courtly songs, to rowdy taverns, to otherworldly music of spiritual reflection. Our performances bring to life the vibrant, complex lives of medieval people from all parts of society, and their fantasy descendants.
Curated with knowledge and passion, our performances encourage reflection not just on history, but on its relevance as a source of solace and inspiration in modern life.
Constanza is delighted to be returning to the beautiful Holy Sepulchre Church, following our Will Todd concert there in 2024. Join us for an unforgettable evening where choral music meets the Argentinian nuevo tango as we perform the ‘Misa a Buenos Aires’, known as the ‘Misatango’, a setting of the mass in Latin by Martín Palmeri featuring accordion and strings.
We will also be performing Michael Higgins’s ‘The Cloths of Heaven’ which is a musical setting of W.B. Yeats’ famous poem, premiered in 2024 as well as Piazzolla’s ‘Libertango’. The concert will also include Warlock’s ‘Capriol Suite’ arranged for strings.

This is a half-day retreat, led by Peter Asprey, which will include reflections , time to hear the music and space for personal prayer and reflection, all in the beautiful surroundings of the National Musicians' Church. Take some time out for yourself to be quiet, reflect, go deeper, and experience the healing power of encounter with God through wonderful music.
When Gabriel Fauré began work on his Requiem in 1887, he envisaged composing something "quite new," a departure from previous settings of these texts. Above all, he wanted to convey an image of a merciful, forgiving God. His iconic music invites us into deep relationship with the One who loves us. It calls us to a fuller surrender, to place ourselves into the loving arms of one who longs to raise us up to life with Him.
Peter Asprey is a conductor, singing teacher. He is the Director of Music at Holy Sepulchre and has a degree in Music from Clare College, Cambridge and a Masters in Spiritual Theology from Maryvale Institute. He gives talks regularly on prayer and the spiritual life, given retreat days on music and has written and delivered an eight-week course on prayer, Heart Speaks to Heart.

The Virginia Gentlemen are the University of Virginia’s premier all-male a cappella ensemble, known for their polished vocal sound, musical versatility, and long tradition of excellence. Founded in 1953, the group performs a wide-ranging repertoire including jazz standards, contemporary popular music, and American classics.
This public diplomacy concert is part of the group’s international Europe Tour and is presented in partnership with UVA Clubs Global and the U.S. Embassy London in celebration of the America 250 commemorations. The performance highlights cultural exchange through American vocal music, strengthening transatlantic connections through the arts.
